Setting and working towards goals is something that plays an important role in our success and development. Whether these goals are career related or family related, we create ideas around who we want to be and what we want to accomplish.
Reach out to the people who hate you. If you ever stand for something, you are going to get haters. It’s easy to hate the people who hate us. It’s much more challenging to love them back. Being able to forgive, let go and show love to these people requires magnanimity and an open heart. Is there anyone who dislikes or hates you in your life? If so, reach out to them. Show them love. Seek a resolution and get closure on past grievances. Even if they refuses to reciprocate, love them all the same. It’s much more liberating than to hate them back.
7. Acquire Conflict Resolution Skills. Conflict is a part of life. After all, people can’t be expected to agree on everything (I once read that if two people always agree, one of them isn’t necessary). The question is whether conflict–when it arises–will be resolved effectively or lead to discord.
12. Overcome Limiting Beliefs. Limiting beliefs keep us trapped in our comfort zone and prevent us from trying new things and taking risks for fear of getting hurt. We can have limiting beliefs about anything–money, success, relationships, and so on. You can even have limiting beliefs about yourself and what you’re capable of.
Working on personal growth is quite easy and starts with the smallest of choices. Choose to do something kind for yourself and/ or someone else. Notice the shift in energy after doing any of the following activities:

Personal growth and development helps you get excited about life. It becomes a challenge or an incentive to see just how far you can go. You may find yourself more excited about life in general when you focus on your growth. It’s exciting to learn new things and uncover new talents you didn’t realize you had. You become more aware of how many opportunities there are in life.

Being a mother has caged me, grounded me, freed me, limited me, taught me, and made me. It’s made me learn to love myself and get past others’ opinions, even my childrens’. If I think too hard about this process, I’ll skip the present if this moment and be sad.

Thank you so much for this, I’m currently on stage 6 and fighting crippling anxiety and maladaptive perfectionism. Recently my anxiety became so extreme that I went into parathesia and have been experiencing sensory loss all over my body for 5 days now. This was the thing that finally pushed me not just work on myself on my own but actually seek some help, so I’m now soon starting therapy. I feel so hopeful after reading this because I truly feel I’m at a point in my life where I’m 100% ready to make changes and this only confirms it. Thank you again! Dr. Becky has some good points but she jumps the gun at a lot of instances like the dairy and gluten cause inflammation. The only time those are an issue is anyone knows that they are allergic to glu…ten, or dairy. She also sells MACA on her website which is illegal to sell in Europe since it can instantaneously destroy your liver. She is a Chiropractor nut a PhD in nutrition. Wake up Early. Develop the habit to get up early. The age old proverb which says: “Early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise!” has been coined owing to the multiple benefits of an early riser. Some of these include: watching and enjoying the sun rise, do some early morning exercise for your fitness, being able to work on a project just because it’s important to you before the day officially gets started, and so on. In addition, studies show that early rises are happier, healthier, and more productive than their late rising counterparts.

Overcome your fears. All of us have fears. Fear of uncertainty, fear of public speaking, fear of risk… All our fears  keep us in the same position and prevent us from growing. Recognize that your fears reflect areas where you can grow. I always think of fears as the compass for growth. If I have a fear about something, it represents something I’ve yet to address, and addressing it helps me to grow.
Carl Jung identified a process of personal growth that he called individuation, which is essentially the conscious realization of your true self, beyond the Ego that is presented by your conscious self. Our efforts to help people develop themselves is essentially the effort to help them to realize that their personal perspectives and conscious ideas are only a small part of who they are, and that the more they try to develop and defend this superficial “self”, the further they get away from their true Self. This realization helps a psyche in many concrete ways, and is also a positive step towards promoting a psyche that is open to the process of individuation. For the purposes of making this realization accessible to the general public, our writings are mostly void of complex theoretical discussion.
It is often a good idea to keep a record of your personal development. By writing down key developments in your learning and development as and when they occur, you will be able to reflect on your successes at a later date.
This is harmful. This likely makes the problem worse. The problem is not you. The problem is what you’re choosing to value, how you’re choosing to see the world and the way in which it operates. There’s nothing wrong with pleasure. There’s nothing necessarily wrong with pain either. It’s the reason each occurs that makes them right or wrong.
A personal development plan helps you to structure your thinking. We constantly plan and think in our head, but very often we miss important details and we don’t create a realistic strategy to realize that plan. That’s why many “plans” stay just in our dreams.

Once you accept that personal development is a continuous journey and, you commit to that journey; you realise that each day you will become a little clearer about what you want. As you become clearer about what you want, you start to see how achieving your goal will improve your life. You can visualise the benefits you will experience. This is what builds the will to accomplish the goal. This is where your most powerful motivation comes from.
The first step is to define goals that are really important to you. It can be something related to your career, but also something that will enrich or improve your personal life (like lose weight, start a new hobby/activity, or learn a new language).
