This is where many people make a major mistake with goals. They see goals as something extra that you add to your life. You find time to work on your goals when you have everything else done. When you set goals this way, you think you are going to make your life bigger and better by adding more to it. What really happens is that you make your life smaller by overloading yourself with things that you don’t really need to be doing.
Incompetent to responsible – Some people simply lack the ability to take responsibility for their own actions. Self-growth helps them become more competent by teaching them how to face their responsibilities.
While I love the flow idea, I think it should try to integrate both worlds, instead of confusing personal development with hard effort that is simply done wrong. Yes of course, there is bad advice in personal development, and there is bad advice in spiritual development. In the end I believe everyone has to be with himself and see what works for him, and not expect something to be the magic bullet. That’s the essence of intelligently taking responsibility for your life.
